Are PVC Toys Safe?

时间:2026-09-01

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) is a non‑toxic, odor‑free plastic material that causes no irritation to skin or respiratory systems. PVC figures are safe as long as no harmful substances are added during production. At Demeng Toy, we use rigid PVC free of any toxic additives. PVC is widely used across industries, including toys, building materials, interior decoration, and even food‑grade packaging.

PVC is divided into two categories: Rigid PVC and Flexible PVC. Rigid PVC accounts for roughly two‑thirds of the market share, while Flexible PVC makes up the remaining one‑third.

Rigid PVC

Rigid PVC products contain no plasticizers. They are sturdy, durable, easy to mold and resistant to cracking, and free of toxins and contaminants. It has a wide range of applications. The construction industry is its largest consumer, accounting for 60% of total consumption, followed by packaging, toys and other small‑scale industries.

Flexible PVC

Flexible PVC contains plasticizers, delivering a soft texture with good toughness yet limited durability. Its application scenarios are relatively restricted. It is commonly used for flooring, ceiling materials and surface layers of artificial leather products.
